Aug 03 Richard Haydon, Tim Headlong and Peter Richmond jointly won the Wiltshire closed championship. Robbie Dams andJoshua Hall shared the Wiltshire Minor championship.
Tim Headlong achieves a BCF grade of 200 in the 2003 Grading List.
At the British Chess Championships Lewis Martin came third in the U-11 championships. Josh Hall came joint third in the U-150 section. David Bareham finished 16th in the Major Open section.
Jun 03 At the UK National Schools Championship Josh Hall, Dan Hall and Robbie Dams represented Commonweal school as part of a 5 man U-16 team, which finished first equal with Magdalen College Oxford. Josh and Robbie, on boards 3 and 4 respectively, won top board score awards with 5/5 and 4½ /5 respectively.
May 03 At the Frome Congress Dan Hall won the 'Best West of England Junior' trophy with 3/5 in the U-155 section at .
Mar 03 At the Wiltshire & West of England Junior Congress Lewis Martin was Joint U-12 West of England Champion & Wiltshire U-12 & U-11 Champion. Robbie Dams was U-14 Wiltshire Champion. Joshua Hall was joint U-16 & U-18 Wiltshire Champion.
At the Blackpool Congress David Bareham achieved a very good score of 4/5 in the Challengers (U-175) section.
Dec 02 Lewis Martin won the British U-11 Rapidplay Championship.
Nov 02 At the Wiltshire Rapidplay Team Championship six teams of 3 players competed. Brown Jack ‘A’ won the event with 11½ points. (Peter Richmond 4, Gary Tanner 2½ and Josh Hall 5). A close second were Brown Jack ‘B’ with 11 points (Richard Haydon 4½, Daniel Hall 4 and Dave Brown 2½. Brown Jack ‘C’ were third with 8 points (Jonathan Bourne 1½, Tim Headlong 4½ and Robbie Dams 2). Wiltshire Women were fourth with 7 points (Jane Richmond & Fenella Headlong were two of the three team members).
Oct 02 At the Weymouth Congress Tim Headlong tied for second place in the Open section with 3½ /5. David Tomboline tied for first place In the Major (U-155) section with 4/5. A Brown Jack team comprising of Daniel Hall, Richard Haydon and David won the team prize with 10½ / 15 points.
