Brown Jack Chess Club National Club (Major) 04/05
Mar 05 - Quarter Final Wood Green achieved a comprehensive victory. On paper Wood Green could not have fielded a stronger side. Their combination of players totalled a grading count of 799, the maximum permitted for this section. Although we won the toss, and were white on the odd boards, we were outplayed in most of the games. Peter Richmond's game, although the last to finish, was the most interesting from a Brown jack point of view. His win saved Brown Jack from a whitewash. It was a shame that the rest of our team failed to perform on the day, but it was no disgrace to lose to such a good team.

Dec 04 - Round 1 Our visitors from Cardiff had the same average team grade as us. We won the toss and were white on the odd boards. Gary Tanner's game was the first to finish. He won after his opponent became subject to a fatal pin in the early middle game. Josh's game was the second to finish. He played aggressively to win well. Pentyrch's hopes were extinguished about three and a half hours into the match when Peter Richmond won his game, after having had the upper hand throughout.
